Tadinya saya adalah orang yang paling anti HP Nokia. Nggak tau kenapa, tapi saya selalu merasa “tidak cocok” dengan selera para developer Nokia :p). Awalnya karena terpaksa, akhirnya sekarang saya pun memakai salah satu produk Nokia, yaitu 6275i. HP CDMA yang ada Java MIDP2, dan GPS (kemampuan ini akan saya tulis tersendiri di artikel mendatang).

I was a person who hate Nokia’s phone. Dunno why, but I always have a different taste with Nokia’s developer :p). But now, I use one of their product, which is 6275i. A Nokia CDMA phone which has a Java MIDP2 and GPS capabilities (I want to share about this in my upcoming article).

Hoby mengoprek memang susah dihilangkan. Jadinya, karena kebutuhan, dan setelah nyari-nyari di internet tidak ketemu software (java) scientific calculator yang cocok dengan selera, akhirnya bikin sendiri dech.

Seorang teman kirim email bercerita tentang kegemaran anaknya main game komputer yang sangat susah dihentiin. Lantas dia minta tolong ke saya, untuk dibuatkan sebuah software yang bisa mematikan sendiri si komputer, kalo dipake diluar jam yang diperbolehkan.

I receive a message from a friend, telling me about his kids new hobby: playing a PC game. It is a good hobby actually, but unfortunately, the kid play it almost all the time. Then, he ask me about a software which can turn the PC off automatically, if it is used in the restricted time.

Setelah tertunda beberapa lama karena (alasan sok) sibuk dengan kerjaan (:p), akhirnya jadilah sebuah software sederhana yang semoga saja bisa memberikan pelajaran kepada anak si temen saya itu tadi supaya tidak menghabiskan seluruh waktu belajarnya untuk bermain game komputer.

After waiting for some times due to my free time problem, finally, the software is ready. I hope it will give a good lesson to the kid, not to use all of his time just to play a PC game, at least a tool for a daddy to push a dicipline to his kids.

Bagi rekan lain yang mungkin memiliki masalah yang sama, silakan download software tersebut disini. Tinggal extract, lalu baca-baca petunjuk singkat untuk mengubah beberapa parameter supaya sesuai dengan yang dibutuhkan di file INI-nya.

UDP Sender bisa digunakan untuk mengirimkan paket UDP ke server yang memang membuka port UDP-nya. Software ini biasanya saya pake untuk melakukan test/simulasi, kalau saya ingin membuat software lain (client/server) yang berkomunikasi dengan UDP.

UDP Sender can be used to send a UDP Packet to a server on a specific UDP port. This software is usually used to test/simulate, if we want to build a client-server software which communicate with UDP.

Sesuai namanya, UDP Proxy bisa digunakan untuk meneruskan paket UDP yang datang ke beberapa IP dan port sekaligus. Software ini bermanfaat jika kita memiliki perangkat (semisal router atau server) yang berkomunikasi dengan menggunakan protokol UDP.

UDP Proxy is a proxy software which work with UDP Packet. This software is usefull if we have a device, such as router or server which communicate through UDP Protocol.

Biasanya, paket UDP akan dikirim ke IP yang memang sudah terdaftar di perangkat tersebut. Jika si perangkat hanya bisa menerima registrasi untuk 1 IP, padahal kita butuh mengirimkan informasi UDP tersebut ke beberapa IP, maka software ini bisa menjadi solusinya.

Usually a UDP packet is sent to a specific registered IP. If there is only 1 possible registered IP, but we need to send a packet to more than 1 destination, this software is the solution.

Gara-gara seharian ngoprek baterei laptop yang bermasalah, akhirnya saya musti bikin software sederhana yang bisa dipake untuk mengukur waktu lamanya laptop hidup. Sebenarnya hanya sebuah software yang menampilkan jumlah jam dan menit sejak pertama kali diaktifkan, tetapi dilengkapi dengan kemampuan untuk menyimpan waktu terakhir ke file.

Actually, I have a problem with my laptop’s battery (its life time is very short). That is the main reason why I build this software, to count a leap time before the laptop is turning-off. It is only a software that display the number of hour and minutes since it runs, plus a capability to save the last counter to the file.

Gunanya? Kalo kita pengen tahu ketahanan baterei, kita bisa memaksa baterei untuk bekerja sampai titik darah terakhir. Artinya, sampai laptop bener-bener tewas. Caranya bisa kita lakukan dengan mematikan alarm critical alarm baterei, atau dengan menutup pin-pin yang ada di tengah baterei. Nah, kalo misalnya tiba-tiba si laptop mati, sementara kita tidak sedang mengamatinya, maka kita perlu bantuan software seperti yang saya buat ini …

For what? If we want to know the battery life time, we can push it (the battery) to work until its minimum level (of voltage). It means, until the laptop is turn-off by itself. For doing that, we can turn off Windows’ critical battery alarm, or isolate the middle pins of battery hardware with a piece of paper. So, if the laptop is suddently turned-off while we are not monitoring it, we need a software like this to complete our experiment about battery’s life time …
